Ireland has a well-established prepaid mobile phone
market. According to EMC Database, Ireland has 3.1 million
mobile phones, 70% of which are prepaid. Most prepaid
account holders are using Electronic Top-up to add minutes
to their mobile phones. e-pay enables retailers to top-up
customers' prepaid services via retailers EPoS systems,
without the risks and stocking issues associated with
physical recharge cards.
e-pay has contracts to provide prepaid mobile services
for all three mobile operators in Ireland. The service
provides both voucher based products and E Top-up
or online products for its providers. Services are
currently available at more than 85 Tesco retail locations
throughout Ireland.
